Thomas Ian Alessie
CEO and Founding Partner
Prior to founding Fundana SA, Mr. Alessie was Head of Derivative Trading Operations at United Overseas Bank in Geneva from 1986 to 1993. From 1985 to 1986 he was a commodities trader at Société Financière pour le Commerce et l’Industrie and from 1981 to 1985 Mr. Alessie was a derivatives trader at Drexel Burnham Lambert.
Michael U. Gerber, PhD
Head of Research and Partner
Dr. Gerber joined Fundana SA in 2001 and is the Head of Research at the firm. He was made a Partner in 2003. Dr. Gerber holds a Masters in Mathematics and received a Doctorate in Operations Research from the Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL). He received the ASRO Prize for his doctoral thesis from the Swiss Society of Operations Research.
Christophe Boccard
COO & CCO and Partner
Mr. Boccard joined Fundana SA in 1994 and was made a Partner in 2003. Prior to this Mr. Boccard was responsible for the administration of derivative products at United Overseas Bank in Geneva, which he joined in 1989. Mr. Boccard holds a Federal Certificate of Capacity from the Business School of Geneva.
Nick Morrell, FCA
CFO, CRO, Head of Operational Due Diligence and Partner
Mr. Morrell joined Fundana SA in 2009 to expand the risk management function. His past experience includes five years at Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLP working in both the Corporate Tax and Audit departments. Mr. Morrell is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (FCA), and he holds a MA in Management (with Distinction) and a BSc in Cell Biology from Durham University.
Serpil Kir Pellet
Business Development
Mrs. Kir Pellet joined Fundana SA in 2011 as coordinator for the activities of acquisition and marketing. Prior to joining the company, Mrs. Kir Pellet worked at Fidurhône SA, a securities dealer company based in Geneva, for 12 years. Her past experience includes working as assistant-accountant at Fidroba SA. Mrs. Kir Pellet holds a diploma in Wealth Management and Private Banking from the ISFB (Institut Supérieur de Formation Bancaire).
Jean-Louis Tsimaratos
Legal Adviser
Mr. Tsimaratos joined Fundana in 2021 as a Legal Adviser. He is a partner with FBT Avocats SA since 1993. Prior to 1993 he was head of legal with Capco Capacity Finance from 1991 to 1993 and from 1987 to 1991, Mr. Tsimaratos was an internal lawyer with Banque BNP Paribas (Suisse) SA.
Joël Bressieux, PhD
Senior Analyst and Partner
Dr. Bressieux joined Fundana SA in 2013 as an Analyst focusing particularly on Quantitative Risk Analysis. Prior to joining the company Dr. Bressieux worked as a Physicist at CERN. Dr. Bressieux holds a Doctorate and a Master’s in Physics from the Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL).
Stéphanie Garcia
Controller
Mrs. Garcia joined Fundana SA in 2004 to supervise the work performed by the administrators and the custodians of the products advised by Fundana SA. Prior to this, Mrs. Garcia was accountant at L’Aiglon SA. She holds a Diploma from the Business School of Geneva.
Françoise Simond
Accountant & Office Manager
Mrs. Simond joined Fundana SA in 2010 as Office Manager to support our CFO for duties related to the administration of the company. Prior to this, Mrs. Simond was accountant at a number of mid-sized companies in Geneva. She holds a B.T.S. in Accounting and Management.
Nicola Tombini
Analyst
Mr. Tombini joined Fundana SA in 2021 as an Analyst. Prior to joining the company, he was a Product Specialist at Amundi Asset Management in Milan. In addition to his internships at Fundana in 2019 and 2020, Mr. Tombini did an internship at Axyon AI in Modena as part of his Master’s thesis. He holds a Master’s in Finance, Fintech and Digital Innovation from the Polytechnic University of Milan and a Bachelor’s in Economics and Management from the University of Pisa.
